Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is considered to be the minimally invasive treatment for many skin conditions, including some premalignant conditions. PDT uses photosensitising creams that are activated with the help of exposure to a specific light spectrum.  Over the last 2 decades,  PDT drugs and the activating light delivery systems have progressed well to provide proper treatment in considerably reduced treatment time.  PDT techniques are simple and can be carried out in outpatient clinics with minimal patient discomfort.
